She was a friend of Charles Babbage, inventor of the Difference Engine.<\/p>\n<p>So, in her <span id=\"670e87fb-247b-4096-8de3-d085f8aa709c\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"5d94252e-1468-4a81-949b-0d8bccfbeec0\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">honour<\/span><\/span>,\u00a0we&#8217;re going to build AdaBot; a mind-reading, number-crunching robot.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Recipe:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To make AdaBot you need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Raspberry Pi<\/li>\n<li>A MakeyMakey<\/li>\n<li>Some cards with numbers on them<\/li>\n<li>Alligator clips, jumper wires, conductive tape, graphite pencils, kitchen foil (or whatever other materials you want to use to make <span id=\"7b8eabb1-62c8-4034-9bd5-d3ad9478b43f\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"2f49bb85-1269-428b-8267-43c47cddfcd5\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">those<\/span><\/span> six cards into big buttons<\/li>\n<li>A small TFT screen (yes, this one&#8217;s a 3.5&#8243; dashboard cam screen)<\/li>\n<li>Some speakers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We will be using Scratch to write the code to control AdaBot.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span id=\"c66b7ab3-8248-497f-98f1-92778a7163e9\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">AdaBot<\/span> Live!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you would like to see AdaBot at work, we will be running a Google Hangout at 4:00pm CEST on Tuesday 14 October.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tuesday 14 October is Ada Lovelace Day.
